Every month there is something new to find around the library.  Ask for a clipboard at the service desk and start hunting!  Found them all?  Sign your name or initials on the chart!

What is a book walk?  Basically a story book that you read by walking past signs - each sign holds a page from the book.  We like to put these up in and around town.  There is usually at least one new book walk to enjoy each month - year round!  Watch our events calendar to see what book walk is where!

You can earn a free book from the library by sending our programmer a photo of your participation in the book walk.  Email vwicks@draytonvalleylibrary.ca 

SEASON: Summer (June - September)

WHO? 

For ages 0-2 (and their caregivers)

WHAT?

Join us outside for a time of rhymes and songs for the little ones. (Bad weather - we'll still run it, but meet inside.)

WHY?

To develop early literacy skills (pre-literacy skills) and provide a chance for caregivers to socialize.

SEASON: Summer (July & August)

WHO?

For teens (13-18 years old)

WHAT?

Each week teens will be given a new graphic novel to borrow from the library (library card required).  The following week we'll discuss it.  Also included may be snacks, creating comics, activities...

WHY?

For fun, socializing, and developing a love of reading!

WHEN / WHERE?

Complete your challenge by the end of September.  The challenge may be a reading list or a game, depending on the year (check our events calendar).

To encourage reading throughout life and have some fun!
