Stuart McLean should be a national treasure. His stories and style of humour is uniquely Canadian (IMO) but also appeals to so many people of similar experience. His descriptions are so visual, you don't need a vivid imagination in order to picture the scenes in your mind's eye. And, the stories are so believable, you can imagine them happening in your own home, or that of your neighbour's.
