Every spring the Drayton Valley Municipal Library holds its Annual Battle of the Books competition. This is a game-show type contest in which children in grades three to six read books and then are quizzed on those books. Battle of the Books has proven to be an effective way to encourage and foster the love of reading among children. Through friendly compeition, we are able to open worlds up to these children they may not have otherwise discovered on their own.
